I'm just wondering how it lived. They pack those bags with nitrogen, not normal air.

we use only the finest baby frogs dew-picked and flown fromn Iraq, lightly killed, and lovingly forsted with glucose.

Apparently this sort of thing is pretty common.

When my sister in law worked in the produce section of the local supermarket, she regularly would call me in to collect some sort of unknown tropical treefrogs from the fresh shipments. This also happened with the cut flowers they got in.

I never did get anything especially ornate but they were all pretty neat pets, and definitely not from the USA.

Wow. I'd heard of black widows in bananas, but not froggies! Too cool. Poor little guy though. He went through the rinsing process and everything :P

My friend's husband found a toad packed in with a computer. Fortunately for the toad, my friend loves frogs and knew how to take care of it. She kept the California toad as a pet in Tennessee for five years.

Yay!

One of the great things about your journal is that the folks who comment here are hep enough to know that random frog discoveries are a GOOD thing.

My mom bought some plants for the office she worked in from a vendor downtown once. He said the plants were from South America, we all just laughed and thought "whatever helps sell".

One of the plants ended up coming home, and we found a dead, crunchy lizard that was definitely not native to North America. We feel kinda bad, maybe he was alive and ended up starving to death.

A friend of mine on a gardening board has a terrarium that she realized one day was inhabited. One of the bromeliads she bought must have had a frog living in it. Considering it also houses some sundews and pitcher plants, it is now the Hungriest Terrarium Ever.
